OK so ‘he’ has gone, but you still may need a policy.

This is just to note that I have been working with Art Express publishers this year to develop a (copyright free) draft policy that enables users of Art Express to simply and easily incorporate the whole Art Express programme into their school policy statement. It is available here An Art and Design Policy Using Art Express. It provides a policy statement which takes account of the demise of national levels and incorporates a system of assessment based upon the explicit expectations of the particular units of work rather than upon a bank of vague statements. It includes systems of recording and reporting.

I mention it here because it occurs to me that primary subject leaders might be interested in a model art and design policy if they are developing their own at this time. Like anything else on this site it is shared in a spirit of co-operation and colleagues are welcome to use as they see fit.
